An established local site work contractor with over 42 years of experience is seeking a Senior Accountant / Controller to join our team immediately. As a key member of a small organization, this role offers the opportunity to take on diverse responsibilities and contribute directly to the companys financial operations and overall success.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in the construction industry to manage all aspects of financial operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure job cost and accounts receivable reports are accurate and fully reconciled with the general ledger
Maintain a thorough understanding of accounting systems and processes; identify and escalate issues to the President as needed
Oversee and manage all Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions
Process A/R, including AIA billing
Review and process subcontractor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals
Accurately enter all financial data, including owner billings, subcontractor payments, and A/P invoices, into the accounting system
Process monthly subcontractor pay applications; verify supporting documentation and follow up to ensure timely payments
Establish and maintain vendor and subcontractor records, including verification of insurance certificates and executed contracts prior to work commencement
Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial statements
Perform monthly variance analysis and provide insights to management
Manage general ledger functions, including month-end and year-end close processes
Provide daily cash flow analysis and reporting
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality control over all financial transactions and reporting
Support leadership with financial analysis and decision-making insights
Manage and transfer financial data within QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

Qualifications
Demonstrated accounting experience within the construction industry (required)
Strong knowledge of A/P and A/R processes, including subcontractor pay applications and schedules of values (SOVs)
Working knowledge of contracts, insurance requirements, and lien releases
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Excel, Beanworks, Adobe, and Mac-based systems
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
