Position Summary
The Property Accountant is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains general ledger integrity, and partners closely with property management to support operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting for assigned property portfolio, including general ledger maintenance and financial reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, revenue recognition, and bank activity
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes within established deadlines
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting packages for internal stakeholders and ownership groups
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze variances and provide explanations to management
- Track and process accounts payable and accounts receivable activity as needed
- Monitor cash flow, distributions, and funding requirements for assigned properties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 2+ years of accounting experience; preferably in a multi-site environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Compensation & Schedule:
- $75,000 - $85,000 with a bonus
- Hybrid and flexible hours
Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
