Job Description
Kforce's client, a large, established organization in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Financial Reporting function in a review-level role supporting multi-entity operations.
Summary:This team is prioritizing candidates who have hands-on experience applying AI and/or automation within accounting workflows. You should be able to demonstrate how you've leveraged automation to improve close processes, reconciliations, reporting accuracy, or efficiency. This is a core requirement, not a preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the general ledger close cycle (month, quarter, year-end) including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting
- Identify, investigate, and resolve variances and discrepancies
- Drive process improvements, with a focus on automation and efficiency
- Support audit and compliance activities, including documentation and controls
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, including system and reporting support
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance financial visibility and decision-making* Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong background in GL accounting, close processes, and GAAP
- Experience working with large datasets and performing detailed financial analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated use of AI and/or automation in an accounting or finance setting (required)
