Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Location: Downers Grove, IL (Hybrid Schedule) Pay Range: $30/HR - $35/HR Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance. 401(k ) Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Staff Accountant to join our client on a contract-to-hire basis. Located in Downers Grove, IL, the Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and support a collaborative accounting team within a growing manufacturing organization. This role will focus primarily on month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting support functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be comfortable working in Excel and ERP systems, and be eager to grow within the organization. This opportunity offers a hybrid schedule with only two days onsite per week. Staff Accountant Responsibilities: Prepare and post recurring journal entries Assist with month-end close activities Prepare accruals for AP, tax, audit, IT, and professional fees Ensure Board of Director fees are properly expensed Prepare 30-40 account reconciliations monthly Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed Assist with tax accounting support functions (training provided) Work cross-functionally with internal departments and accounting leadership Utilize ERP systems and Excel to maintain accurate financial records Other duties as assigned Staff Accountant Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Strong Excel skills required, including experience with V-lookups Must be tech-savvy and comfortable working within ERP systems Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Manufacturing industry experience is a plus Oracle experience preferred, but not required If you or anyone you know is interested and qualified, please apply!
