The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our accounts payable department. This includes supervising staff, managing processes, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. The successful candidate ensures that the department meets all financial deadlines and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising staff, managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all supplier payments
• Ensure that financial deadlines are met and that customer service is provided to all internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor accounts and ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved
• Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
• Providing assistance and training to Accounts Payable staff
• Conducting annual performance reviews of all Accounts Payable staff
• Maintaining a current listing of the Accounts Payable department job functions and staff assigned to each duty
• Reviewing work productivity of the department to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Directing and/or assisting in the performance of tasks when required
• May delegate daily work assignments based on own knowledge of department priorities
• Using tact and diplomacy when performing all duties
• Manage the budget and ensure optimal cost savings
• Prepare monthly and annual reports for management
• Preparing reports and performs other duties for the Finance department as requested
• Ensuring that invoices received are approved by the Supervisor in a timely manner
• Creating new vendors and/or modifications.
• Validating vendor bank information and/or tax number with suppliers
• Ensuring all Accounts Payable cheques are processed
• Confirming all EFT/Wire payments are processed properly and deposited by the scheduled date
• Make certain all approvals are received for each payment batch
• Processing general leger account adjustments as required
• Answering queries from all vendors regarding problems with invoices or payments. • Directing emails from vendors to appropriate party to solve problems as they arise. • Corresponding with vendors regarding problems with invoices as required.
• Participate in the preparation of the annual audit and assist Auditors when Accounts Payable information is required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
• At least 3+ years of accounts payable experience preferred
• Proven experience supervising staff and managing processes
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills • Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office
• Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
