SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising the Accounts Receivable Specialist – Premium Audit and Accounts Receivable Specialists. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will also review and reconcile agent open item balances for assigned General Agents of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and support to the Accounts Receivable Specialist – Premium Audit and all Accounts Receivable Specialist I positions.
- Manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist – Premium Audit and all Accounts Receivable Specialists positions.
- Perform complete reconciliation of selected agents’ agent open items monthly.
- Assist the general agents with resolving issues relating to Premium Audits.
- Communicate open balance items to agent and work with agent to resolve old items.
- Act as the primary accounting contact with assigned general agents.
- Identify new agents and make any necessary contacts.
- Assist the general agents with resolving issues relating to policy billing.
- Assist in identifying potential errors in billing and maintaining the agent open item system.
- Review old items and pending items and work with general agent to resolve items.
- Review offsets for each general agent and apply in Agent Open Item.
- Provide back up for the Accounts Receivable Specialist – Premium Audit and other accounting staff for vacations and other absences when needed.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Account Receivable Specialist or Analyst minimum one year required.
Two-year accounting or business degree or equivalent experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and general ledger software is required. Employee should have excellent communication, time management and organization skills. Employee must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Must have ability to write routine correspondence; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; and the skill and ability to use and operate an adding machine, computer, fax machine, phone system and copier.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form. Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations
