Sr. Payroll Specialist Location : Desperes MO Hybrid
Duties: As a Senior Payroll Specialist you will ensure accurate and timely processing of employee wages and benefits, including calculating hours worked, withholding taxes, and managing deductions. Your role will also be a crucial role in compliance with payroll regulations and providing support to employees with payroll -related inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit paper payroll checks and electronic direct deposit.
• Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays
• Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors
• Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
• Maintain and document all payroll records
• Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
• Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions
• Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting preferred
• Microsoft office, Word, Excel
• Experience with payroll processing and wage attachment
• Excellent organization and mathematical skills
• Familiarity with Windows-based computer programs a must NOTE: selected candidate would be working closely with Payroll Calculations & Reporting – Ensure accurate system calculations and timely reporting of US and Canadian payrolls, responding to questions and special requests from associates and regulatory agencies, researching payroll laws and regulations, and creating projections, general ledger reconciliations, and special reports for leadership.
