Baer is looking for SAP Accounts Payable & Financial Operations Lead for a 12 month Federal Remote Project.

Title: SAP Accounts Payable & Financial Operations Lead
Location: Remote (Must be based in US) with occasional travel to Washington DC
Duration: 12 months
Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed
Alignment: W2 or C2C

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Accounts Payable & Financial Operations Lead to support a major enterprise financial transformation initiative. This role will lead accounts payable, financial operations, payment processing, and related financial management processes within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP Financial Accounting expertise, deep knowledge of accounts payable operations, and experience driving business process improvements across complex organizations.

Description

• Lead accounts payable and financial operations process transformation initiatives
• Support SAP S/4HANA financial modernization and optimization activities
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, requirements gathering, and process design sessions
• Develop functional recommendations, solution designs, and process improvements
• Support testing, deployment, training, and change management activities
• Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and business stakeholders
• Ensure solutions align with financial controls, compliance requirements, and business objectives

Public Trust Security Clearance is the lowest level of additional background screening that the federal government requires for applicants of certain jobs, which includes completing a Standard Form 85 (SF85) form.

Requirements

• 8+ years of ERP consulting experience
• 2+ years of SAP S/4HANA experience Required
• Public sector financial management experience
• Strong SAP Financial Accounting (FI) experience
• Extensive Accounts Payable (AP) expertise
• Experience leading functional workstreams and stakeholder engagements
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
