Location: This is a hybrid role based in Burton, Michigan, with on-site presence needed to partner closely with leadership, accounting, operations, and branch teams. Note: Candidates must have 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior accounting leadership. A bachelors degree in Accounting is required. Job Description Lead the day-to-day accounting function and oversee the accounting team. Own the month-end close process, balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and financial statement quality. Serve as the finance quality control point before financials are finalized with the CFO. Maintain and improve internal controls appropriate for a growing, private equity backed business. Manage day-to-day cash management, short-term liquidity forecasting, working capital visibility, and lender reporting. Drive budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, KPI reporting, and recurring performance reporting. Build clear, useful reporting for branch leaders, operations, sourcing, executive leadership, and the board. Identify and lead automation opportunities across close tasks, reconciliations, reporting, and recurring analysis. Use finance technology, BI tools, data warehouse resources, automation, and AI to reduce manual work and improve decision-making. Support M&A due diligence, quality of earnings coordination, opening balance sheet work, purchase accounting, and integration workstreams. Help standardize acquired entities into the companys accounting, close, and reporting processes. Partner with branch managers, sourcing, IT, and operations to translate financial results into practical business insight. Raise financial literacy across the organization through clear narratives, useful metrics, and strong business partnership. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience. Senior accounting leadership experience required. Bachelors degree in Accounting required. MBA strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, close processes, balance sheet discipline, internal controls, and lender reporting. Real FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting. Experience leading, developing, delegating to, and holding accounting teams accountable. Experience in private equity backed, multi-site, growth-oriented, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial services environments strongly preferred. M&A, purchase accounting, opening balance sheet, and integration experience strongly preferred. Epicor Prophet 21 and Power BI experience strongly preferred. Comfortable using automation, AI, BI tools, and finance systems to improve workflows. Able to operate at both a strategic and hands-on execution level.
