A growing professional services organization is seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join its collaborative payroll team. This role offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse client portfolio while gaining exposure to payroll compliance, tax filings, and client consulting.
This is a highly visible, hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, client-facing environment and enjoys balancing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
Process payroll for a portfolio of approximately 90-120 clients on scheduled cycles
Prepare, reconcile, and review payroll reports and adjustments
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll outputs based on client-specific requirements
Client Support & Communication
Partner with clients to ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll data
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll platform issues and user questions
Build strong client relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews
Tax & Compliance Support
Assist with quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
Maintain accurate records and documentation in internal systems
Track workflows, deadlines, and project status to ensure compliance and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred
Prior payroll or accounting experience is a plus (training available for the right candidate)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach
Reliable, organized, and proactive with strong follow-through
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems
Interest in obtaining the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is encouraged
