Controller
The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory management. This role ensures the integrity of financial records, delivers accurate and timely reporting, and maintains compliance with all applicable regulations and internal controls.
Job Description:
In addition to managing day-to-day financial activities, the Controller plays a critical role in supporting operational decision-making, driving financial discipline, and contributing to strategic planning and budgeting processes. This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Finance to align financial performance with business objectives.
Lead and develop a small finance team, providing direction, coaching, and performance management for two direct reports
Manage the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
Oversee annual budgeting activities, including labor planning, overhead allocation, and standard product costing
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including both traditional and flexible forecasting models
Develop and maintain weekly and monthly financial forecasts to support business planning and performance tracking
Partner with Operations and Corporate Finance to provide timely financial insights and key performance metrics
Support capital investment planning by assisting with financial analysis and approval requests for engineering and operational projects
Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, SOX requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
Oversee product costing, payroll processes, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset management
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting accuracy
Qualifications Seeking:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis tools.
Hands-on experience with standard cost accounting.
Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
Working knowledge of SQL or advanced data query.
Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, SQL Queries).
