Collections Representative

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Collections Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for managing outstanding accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to balance customer service with effective collections practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact customers regarding overdue balances via phone and email in a professional manner

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and prioritize collection activities accordingly

  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities and customer interactions

  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account issues and improve processes

  • Process and apply incoming payments accurately and timely

  • Provide customers with clear information regarding account balances and payment options

  • Assist with month-end close by ensuring accounts are updated and reconciled

  • Generate reports related to collection performance and account status as needed

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or related experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and tact

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a professional services, corporate, or office environment

Pay Details: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
