This position is responsible for generating and processing payroll and performing related underlying functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Updates and maintains current payroll information on all employees in the Human Resources/Payroll information systems. Prepares, processes and generates payroll checks and direct deposits, including regular and on-demand payrolls. Setup garnishment deductions in payroll system and process payments to the applicable agencies. Participates as an active team member by assisting other payroll processors with issues, training new processors, reviewing payroll maintenance and processing monthly payrolls. Reconciles voucher deductions, garnishments, work shifts, disability, etc. Completes special projects and other assignments as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Payroll Director. Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE: Two (2) year accounting degree or equivalent work experience One(1) to three (3) years of previous payroll experience, preferably in a 500+ employee setting; Excellent computer skills (spreadsheet applications and HR/PR systems, i.e. Lawson, Kronos, Excel preferred); Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; and Excellent organizational skills.
