POSITION: District Payroll Clerk, Wells-Ogunquit CSD Central Office - This is a full time/year round position responsible for all payroll functions of the District.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in payroll preparation and processing or such alternative qualifications as the School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Candidate must be willing to participate in ongoing in-service training as requested.
  • Candidate must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law.
  • Prior experience with Tyler Technologies ADS Profund software a plus.
  • Successful candidate will be required to obtain Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Input biweekly payroll information for all employees
  • Prepare W-2 forms and year-end tax reports
  • Prepare all state and federal reports (i.e., Internal Revenue System quarterlies, Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS), Social Security, Department of Labor and Maine Internal Revenue)
  • Maintain records and make payments for health, dental, life insurance, disability, workers' compensation, medical/dependent reimbursement and 403(b) and 457 plans
  • Collect payroll data from schools and prepare for computer check run
  • Run payroll checks and prepare for distribution
  • Process and transmit direct deposit for payroll and maintain direct deposit records
  • Maintain records of absence: sick leave, personal leave and vacation leave
  • Maintain records and make payments for tax levies and garnishments
  • Prepare extra and co-curricular contracts and process stipends for payment
  • Assist the outside auditors by providing payroll related analysis and information
  • Work with Finance Director in prepartion of payroll budget
  • Work with Finance Director on information for various reports (i.e. annual salary updates/benefit addendum) and perform other various payroll functions as required.
