Accounts Payable Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounts Payable Specialist for a healthcare-focused organization located in Bradenton, Florida. This is an exciting onsite contract opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional seeking immediate work within a collaborative finance environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounts Payable Specialist will support high-volume accounts payable operations, invoice processing, vendor communication, and month-end accounting support functions. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong AP processing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, organization, and compliance.

This is a fully onsite contract position expected to begin June 1, 2026, with an estimated assignment end date of August 22, 2026, and strong potential for extension or conversion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Process invoices, check requests, and accounts payable transactions accurately and timely

Ensure invoices include proper approvals and general ledger coding

Support check runs and vendor payment processing

Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor setup documentation

Research discrepancies and communicate with vendors regarding payment issues

Assist with IRS Form W-9 and 1099 reporting compliance

Prepare monthly accruals to support month-end close processes

Support accounting team operations and additional finance-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum one year of direct accounts payable processing experience required

Experience working within high-volume computerized AP environments preferred

Understanding of period-end accruals and 3-way matching processes

Knowledge of IRS Form W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements

Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively

Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience strongly preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$22/hour

Full-time contract opportunity
