Position Summary
The Accounts Payable and Travel Coordinator position facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Travel Department as well as processes other accounts payable invoices for payment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of travel vouchers and accounts payable invoices.
This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
- Facilitates the day-to-day operations of the Travel Department, including the processing of employee reimbursement requests, accuracy of data entry, and related spend reporting.
- Develops and implements process improvements and automation to streamline travel expenditure reporting and payment reimbursement.
- Provides training to WKU employees on the travel policy and proper travel voucher completion.
- Ensures accurate processing of accounts payable invoices against purchase orders. Balances invoices and pay documents entered daily.
- Communicates with internal business partners and vendors to address inquiries, resolve payment issues, and manage payment terms.
- Serves as departmental record keeper for pro cards.
- Enters departmental requisitions.
- Maintains inventory and orders office supplies as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficient in typing, data entry, and Windows operating system.
- Proficient in Microsoft, specifically Excel.
- Ability to maintain computer concentration for prolonged periods of time.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's degree
- At least four years bookkeeping experience
Additional Information:
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $21.00
