Our client located in Nashville, TN seeks a direct hire Payroll Manager to join their growing team. The Payroll Manager owns end-to-end U.S. and Canada payroll, overseeing payroll processing, tax compliance, controls, payroll accounting, and serves as the 401(k) Plan Administrator, partnering closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, and external vendors to support strong governance and audit readiness. Duties: Own end-to-end U.S. and Canada payroll processing in partnership with ADP, serving as the primary escalation point and ensuring accurate, timely delivery. Ensure multi-state and cross-border payroll compliance, tax administration, internal controls, and payroll accounting in collaboration with HR, Finance, and Accounting. Manage payroll systems, integrations, vendors, audits, and cash funding while supporting month?end close and reporting. Serve as 401(k) Plan Administrator, overseeing contributions, compliance, audits, and vendor coordination. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field is required 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including end?to?end payroll ownership and partnership with outsourced providers (ADP preferred). Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, payroll tax compliance, audits, internal controls, and payroll accounting. Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and manage complex deadlines with high attention to detail. Ability to commute to sister office 50 miles north of Nashville as needed Preferred Experience with Canada or international payroll, 401(k) administration, and SOX-compliant environments. CPP certification and familiarity with ADP platforms and payroll system integrations. Title: Payroll Manager Location: Nashville, TN (Green Hills) with travel to sister location 50 miles north of Nashville Pay: $80k - $110k salary with competitive benefits Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
