Position Overview
MetaFarms, the leading Livestock Agriculture software platform is looking to expand their executive team with a Vice President of Accounting and Operations. This position will report directly to the President: Ag Platform/ COO and will be responsible for leading the company's financial strategy, accounting operations and overseeing core operational functions that support scalable growth. This role combines financial leadership with operational management, ensuring that the organization operates efficiently, maintains strong financial discipline, and executes against strategic objectives.
The position partners closely with the executive team to drive data-driven decision making, operational performance, and long-term company growth.
As a company leader, having an affinity for agriculture and the customers we serve will be critical.
In a SaaS environment, the role is responsible for financial planning, SaaS metrics reporting, revenue operations alignment, and operational process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
Provide monthly and quarterly reporting to the executive team and board
Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital planning
Oversee financial modeling to support growth initiatives
Ensure compliance with revenue and expense recognition standards
Manage external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
Operational Leadership
Oversee operational functions including RevOps, HR/People Ops, and internal systems
Improve cross-department processes to increase efficiency and scalability
Lead company-wide KPI tracking and performance dashboards
Drive operational planning and alignment across departments
Implement and optimize core business systems (ERP, CRM, analytics tools)
Support hiring planning and workforce management
SaaS Metrics & Business Intelligence
Develop reporting and analytics for key SaaS metrics including:
Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR)
Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
Net Revenue Retention (NRR)
Churn and expansion revenue
Gross margin and unit economics
Ensure leadership has clear performance visibility into company growth and profitability.
Strategic Planning
Partner with the CEO and COO to define short and long-term company strategy
Lead annual operating plan development
Provide financial analysis to support strategic investments
Evaluate pricing strategies and product economics
Support potential fundraising, financing, or M&A initiatives
Leadership & Team Development
Build and lead high-performing finance and operations teams
Develop scalable financial and operational processes
Establish internal controls and governance structures
Foster a data-driven decision culture across the organization
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
Strong financial planning and operational management skills
Experience overseeing accounting and operational teams
Expertise in financial modeling and strategic analysis
Preferred
CPA or MBA
Passion for Agriculture
Experience in growth-stage SaaS companies
Experience implementing ERP or business systems
Board or investor reporting experience
Success Metrics for the Role
Accurate financial reporting and forecast predictability
Strong SaaS KPI visibility and performance management
Efficient operational processes that scale with growth
Healthy cash management and capital efficiency
Alignment between finance, sales, and operations
