Senior Tax Accountant

This position will apply the principles of accounting to manage and exercise independent judgment with respect to preparing tax returns and financial analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and manage financial analysis for presentation to supervisor.
  • Manage tax return process to meet required deadline.
  • Review financial statement for tax implications.
  • Assist with federal and state tax audits by gathering support documents as directed by Supervisor.
  • Prepare, review and maintain tax basis schedules for partnerships.
  • Prepare and assist with yearend tax estimates to provide to partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May directly supervise up to three employees in the Corporate Accounting.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employee and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and assisting supervisor or manager in resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to determine the appropriate action.
  • Process management skills.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to learn and utilize industry specific software as required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated reliability in attendance and work performance.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to use 10-Key by touch.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • CPA License preferred.
