Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled. About the Position: This position is located in Financial and Performance Review. Second-level Supervisor/Manager responsible for overseeing the work of Professional level auditing staff. Accountable for formulating fiscal policies and operating procedures to concur with laws, rules and regulations as well as Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). Employees at this level prepare and administer programs and budgets for the agency or department in cooperation with the agency executive team or accounting supervisor. Accountable for receiving and resolving questions and problems presented by business partners, Federal government agencies, local governments, State agencies, executive staff and other employees. May be required to serve as a witness in administrative hearings related to subjects under his supervisory purview. Audits are performed as required by the Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waiver programs as approved by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, State Plan, Code of Federal Regulations, Affordable Care Act, and the Mississippi Administrative Code. Other audits may be performed as directed. What you'll need to be Successful: This position requires some background knowledge of home and community-based waivers and the associated regulations. Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of regulations associated with resident trust funds and the false claims act. Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 6-7 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:A bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 24 hours of accounting courses, and 6-7 years of experience are typically required. Education or experience should demonstrate success in auditing. Employee supervisory experience is preferred.
