Department of Otolaryngology

Job Description

The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Finance & Accounting Specialist. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Department's fiscal operations and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across a variety of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all departmental travel processes, including securing required approvals, arranging travel, and completing post travel reimbursement for all faculty, providers, and staff.
  • Manage the bi weekly payroll process for departmental staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to University guidelines.
  • Support financial reporting activities, particularly those related to provider compensation and productivity tracking.
  • Process and reconcile all OneCard expense reports, ensuring compliance with University procurement and auditing requirements.
  • Manage departmental inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining stock levels, and working with vendors as needed.
  • Process purchase orders (POs), vouchers, and a variety of fiscal transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Key PCEs, JEs, and related financial entries, including those tied to clinical trials and other departmental accounts.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A self starter with strong initiative and follow through
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • An effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage data and produce reports
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment

Shift

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with PeopleSoft or similar enterprise financial systems preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.87 - $26.50 hourly

Grade: GGS - 008
