What This Role Is All About
The Financial Manager I Net Revenue Accounting leads a team of 3 financial analysts who support the financial reporting, revenue analysis, and accounts receivable functions of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. This role brings together leadership, financial expertise, and analytical strength to support accurate reporting, efficient processes, and informed decision making across the health system.
Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing detailed financial schedules, supervising accounting and financial analysis activities, interpreting complex data, and supporting improvements within revenue and accounts receivable workflows. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting practices, advanced analytical ability, and the confidence to guide staff while collaborating with leaders across the organization.
The Financial Manager I Net Revenue Accounting will support month end close activities, lead analysis of actual to budget variances, and partner with teams such as Revenue Cycle, Reimbursement, and Payor Strategy to interpret financial trends. Leadership responsibilities include staff development, communication, performance guidance, and active participation in department culture. What You Bring on Day One
Education
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Experience
- 7 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Efficient use of a ten key calculator
- Familiarity with the Windows operating system
Great to Have
Education
- Masters degree in accounting, business, or healthcare administration
Experience
- 8 to 12 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Healthcare industry experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel functions
- Experience with Infor Lawson or other double entry accounting systems
- Experience with Epic EMR billing systems
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar business analytics tools
Licenses and Certifications
- CPA
- HFMA certification
What This Job Looks Like
Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Lead a team of 3 financial analysts supporting revenue and accounts receivable activities
- Use Crowe Revenue Cycle Analytics system to support reserve calculations, reporting, and revenue analysis
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations, financial reports, and financial schedules
- Conduct month end analytics and prepare clear narratives for management
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Reimbursement, and Payor Strategy groups to interpret revenue data
- Identify and correct data issues through timely analysis and problem solving
- Complete special projects, reports, and analyses accurately and on schedule
Leadership
- Provide guidance and technical support for staff work
- Train, coach, and develop accounting team members
- Delegate tasks effectively and organize workloads
- Support department culture with initiative and accountability
- Communicate clearly with leaders, finance teams, and partner departments
