Property Tax
  • Support supervisor and organization on property tax issues including real estate tax, personal property tax, valuation, audits, tax bill payment, budgeting, and forecasting. Internally collaborate and provide guidance pertaining to property tax to Real Estate, Construction, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, and Government Relations. Externally collaborate with consultants, attorneys, appraisers, and jurisdictions. Propose and execute on process improvements.
Business Incentives
  • Supports tax, credits and incentives analysis and compliance on capital and personnel projects that increase overall return on investment. This includes planning, research, reporting, compliance and process improvement. Works with Property Tax and Business Incentives teams internally, interdepartmentally, and externally with economic development authorities, taxing authorities, and consultants.
Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities: Property Tax
  • Support the development of fair market values including owned and leased real estate, business personal property, and inventory.
  • Assist in the development of monthly and annual financial plan.
  • Resolve issues and assist on audits with taxing authorities.
  • Assist in the annual real estate tax appeals process.
  • Assist in filing annual business personal property and inventory returns.
  • Support the tax bill payment process.
  • Work with leadership to scope, propose, and execute value creation and expense reduction opportunities.
  • Manage property tax audits.
Business Incentives
  • Maintain credits and incentives calendars, tracker, processes, and systems; identify process improvements.
  • Prepare credits and incentives applications
  • File periodic credit and incentive compliance reports.
  • Obtain payroll, asset value, and operating metric data to analyze, and report in support of credits and incentives
  • Assist tax with processing notices, compliance and GL reconciliation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years or more related experience
Certifications and/or Technical Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required including Excel data analysis.
  • Certification with continuing education organizations such as Institute for Professionals in Taxation preferred.
Abilities and Skills:
  • Strong work ethic proven by positive "can-do" attitude and commitment to a mutually respectful team.
  • Excellent communication skills required with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues is a requirement.
  • Adept at learning and applying Federal, state, and local legislative tax policy affecting the company.
  • Organized and capable of maintaining tax calendars, tax compliance, appeal and audit support.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop in-house teams as well as manage outsourced service providers.
  • Ability to develop and analyze property tax valuations.
