We are currently seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager located in Dallas, TX .
Overview:
The Accounting Manager is a hands-on position responsible for the production of accurate, timely monthly financial statements. They will have oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the General Ledger. The Accounting Manager will be on-site in Dallas, TX.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
- CPA Preferred
- Experience with current ERP systems for Architects and Engineers
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion in a supervisory role.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
- Managed financial operations with contracts exceeding $30,000,000M+\
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks desktop & QuickBooks online and ERP platforms.
- Experienced in various invoicing methods included percent complete, Time and Materials/Expense, Cost plus and fixed fee and job costing.
- Compiling detailed monthly variance analyses for effective tracking of actuals versus budgets/forecasts.
- Supervised accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Streamlining reconciliation procedures including inter-company transactions in a job costing, multi-company environment.
- Ensured compliance with tax regulations by timely preparation and filing of all required returns prepared internally.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP / FARS.
- Experience with WIP and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to project net profit through in-depth analysis and discussions with project managers, incorporating past trends for future estimates.
- Strong Leadership skills with dedication to team building, driving and achieving results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger functions, including, but not limited to creating journal entries, reviewing the GL, managing/analyzing/reporting budget vs actual results, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all managerial reporting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness including posting of necessary journal entries for multiple companies and creating a written monthly report analyzing results vs budget.
- Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements and optimization of financial reporting processes to reduce monthly closing time.
- Prepare quarterly cash-based financial statements and make recommendations for Owner(s) distributions.
- Lead and assist with year-end overhead audit, schedules and notes for Annual Reviewed financial statements and tax returns.
- Assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Prepare/Oversee weekly cash forecast for multiple companies.
- Provide oversight, support, and training when necessary for accounting personnel including accounts payable clerk, accounts receivable supervisor and a Jr. Accountant.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year end.
- Provide reports to external parties e.g., bankers, CPA's, clients etc. as required and/or requested.
- Assist with special projects / ad hoc reporting and requests.
- Attend meetings as required.
Salary:
- $80,000-90,000k/yr.
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
