Our client, a leader in the automotive parts industry, is seeking a Senior Inventory Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Inventory Accountant, you will be part of the finance department supporting the inventory management team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Inventory Accountant
Location: Oak Brook, IL
Pay Range: $80,000 - $125,000
What's the Job?
- Oversee the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate valuation of inventory and management of costing methodologies.
- Ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded in both Oracle and IBS (AS400) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage and oversee the reconciliation process between IBS (AS400) and Oracle GL, ensuring accurate data transfer.
- Collaborate closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory data tracking and reporting.
- Lead and mentor the inventory accounting team, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively manage inventory accounting processes.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, specifically focused on inventory management and cost accounting.
- In-depth understanding of inventory accounting methods (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) and costing methods in line with GAAP.
- Experience working with financial systems, particularly Oracle GL and IBS (AS400) subledger systems.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, drive process improvements, and collaborate across departments.
