Our client, a leader in automotive parts importing and distribution, is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be part of the Finance Department supporting the Accounting and FP&A teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Revenue Accountant
Location: Oak Brook, IL
Pay Range: $120,000 - $125,000
What's the Job?
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, ensuring accurate recognition and classification of all revenue transactions.
- Oversee the preparation of journal entries related to revenue recognition, ensuring accurate accounting for deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and revenue adjustments.
- Collaborate with FP&A to analyze and explain sales variances between actuals and budget, providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Manage the reconciliation of revenue and receivable accounts between IBS (AS400) and Oracle GL, ensuring timely and accurate transfer of data.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules related to revenue transactions and assist with both internal and external audit requests.
What's Needed?
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- 3-5 years of distribution or manufacturing experience in revenue recognition, with experience in ASC 606 and related accounting principles.
- Experience with financial systems such as Oracle GL and IBS (AS400) or similar platforms.
- Proven experience in working closely with FP&A teams, specifically around revenue forecasting and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex reconciliations in multi-system environments.
