As a Staff Accountant, you will assist the Finance Department by managing the Rental Income functions of the organization, and support other recurring accounting activities including mileage entries, transfers and ACH payments, and inventory distribution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Subsidy Processing- Obtain and verify rental assistance data, process and upload rent payments, and maintain accurate tenant ledgers by posting and reconciling subsidy payments monthly.
  • Property Management System Processes- Perform monthly administrative tasks, including closing the PM system, importing data to the accounting system, and processing reversals and write-offs.
  • Intercompany Invoicing- Review and analyze monthly intercompany transactions, prepare supporting entry spreadsheets, and process and post due to/from Affiliate transactions.
  • Accounting System Processes- Prepare and post biweekly mileage entries, record vacancy loss from the property management system, prepare monthly inventory distributions, and initiate transfers and ACH payments.
  • Funder Support- Prepare and distribute monthly HUD MAR reports, process HUD vouchers, complete monthly and quarterly OCCH reporting, and handle the annual OCCH budget import.

Qualifications and Job Specifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-4 years general accounting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology utilized in role
  • Experience with property management software (Yardi) or accounting software (Abila MIP) preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Ohio Driver's license and auto insurance.
