This role is responsible for managing the financial activities of approximately 15 active partnerships and plays a critical role in ensuring financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Strategy Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across all active business entities. Prepare and analyze job-specific profit & loss statements and financial performance metrics. Develop financial strategies aligned with business goals to support growth and profitability. Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation plans. Accounting Operations Lead all core accounting functions including Accounts Payable/Receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations. Manage timely and accurate preparation of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual). Ensure compliance with GAAP, particularly construction-focused revenue recognition (e.g., percentage-of-completion, completed contract). Drive the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including 1099 and sales/use tax filings. Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and manage the finance and accounting team to build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Promote the adoption of best practices in financial reporting and construction accounting standards. Champion cross-functional collaboration with project management and operations teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred). 10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with 5+ years in the construction industry. Solid expertise in job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, contract billing, and financial modeling. Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, ComputerEase, or equivalent. Strong leadership and project management skills with a focus on accuracy and strategic thinking.
