Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Accounting Manager to lead core financial operations, strategic planning, fund accounting, and compliance. This role will be instrumental in providing financial insights, ensuring regulatory adherence, and driving business performance.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Manage all day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with GAAP.
Oversee month-end/year-end close and ensure financial data integrity.
Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Conduct variance analysis and provide performance insights to leadership.
Monitor key financial metrics and identify growth opportunities and risks.
Fund & Investment Accounting
Administer capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
Track fund performance and work closely with investment teams on valuations.
Maintain accurate, audit-ready records for internal and external stakeholders.
Tax Strategy & Compliance
Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies.
Ensure timely and accurate tax filings (corporate, indirect, and international).
Stay updated on changing tax laws and advise on business impacts.
Audit & Regulatory Oversight
Manage relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
Maintain and enhance internal controls and compliance procedures.
Ensure alignment with relevant financial and operational standards.
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
Promote a culture of accountability, development, and continuous improvement.
Foster collaboration across departments and align financial goals with business strategy.
Strategic Financial Guidance
Support executive decision-making with financial forecasting and scenario analysis.
Evaluate business cases and investment proposals.
Contribute to long-term planning and company-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bilingual in Japanese
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong background in accounting, tax planning, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and financial analysis tools.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
