We are currently seeking an experienced Project Accountant for our Jacksonville, FL or Columbus, OH offices. This will be onsite initially, with hybrid flexibility after onboarding and training. What Youll Do:This role will go beyond billing, as youll manage the full spectrum of project accounting, project financial analysis, and operational support to help drive project performance and profitability. Youll partner closely with project managers, operations leads, and the finance team to oversee all aspects of the project accounting cycle, from initial setup in Deltek Vantagepoint through project closeout. Key Responsibilities:Support and participate in monthly financial project performance review meetings.Review and analyze project financial data; make recommendations to improve performance and profitability.Provide scheduled and ad hoc financial and project reporting for operational leads.Partner with Project Managers throughout the full lifecycle of project financial management, including setup, invoicing, collections, forecasting, and closeout.Oversee monthly invoicing to ensure timeliness and accuracy.Serve as the primary point of contact for group operations employees on financial matters related to projects.Track subcontractor expenses and ensure proper application of charges to projects and timely payment to subcontractors.Manage unbilled and deferred revenue, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation.Lead or participate in project accounting training sessions for operations staff.Support audits (bank, external, and client) with accurate and timely documentation.Collaborate with the Finance team for timely and accurate month-end close.Ensure compliance with contracts, internal controls, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.Contribute to the ongoing development of accounting procedures and operational strategies, including process improvements and system enhancements. What Youll Bring:A minimum of a bachelors degree in Accounting or related discipline.2-4 years of experience as a project accountant required, and experience in A&E Industry preferred.Strong financial analysis, reporting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to go beyond transactional tasks.Prior experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
