The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor plays a vital role in keeping MEI running smoothly by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payment operations. In this hands-on role, you'll oversee the full cycle of accounts payable - managing invoices, payment processing, vendor relationships, and reporting - while maintaining the precision and reliability that our growing organization depends on.

Reporting into the VP of Accounting, [CG1] [GH2] this position is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, consistency, accountability - and who takes pride in knowing their work directly enables projects that make a real impact.

What You'll Own

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, payment runs, and vendor reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance by reviewing invoices for proper coding, authorization, and adherence to company policies and internal controls
  • Manage cash outflows by coordinating weekly and monthly payment cycles (checks, ACH, wires) and handling urgent/exception payments as needed
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, responding to inquiries and resolving payment issues quickly to support business continuity
  • Oversee expense management by reviewing company credit card activity, ensuring timely submission, and reconciling monthly credit card reports for close
  • Support critical transactions by initiating ACH and wire payments for deal closings and recurring office expenses
  • Direct compliance reporting by managing year-end 1099 preparation and filing, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies

What Will Help You Succeed (You don't need to check every box, but here is what will help you thrive.)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of AP experience preferred
  • Experience in solar/renewable energy or construction a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient with accounting software (Intacct, bill.com, Concur) and Microsoft Excel)
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines

$100,000 - $110,000 a year

Plus discretionary annual bonus
