About the role: Conservice is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is a key part of our financial operations, focused on the accurate and timely accounting of sales commissions and payroll entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for improving processes. This position requires a high degree of discretion and integrity, as it involves handling sensitive employee and financial data. The analyst will not only execute these critical functions but also be expected to identify and drive initiatives to automate and streamline these processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting or financial analysis role.
  • Proven ability to perform complex calculations and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, with advanced skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Power Query is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive and independent work ethic, with a proven ability to identify problems and propose solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and analyze sales commissions based on established plans and company policies, ensuring accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
  • Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries into the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and classification.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to commissions and payroll for internal stakeholders and management.
  • Collaborate with the sales and human resources departments to ensure the accuracy of underlying data used in commission calculations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, and take the lead in developing and implementing solutions.
  • Assist with year-end financial reporting and audits as they relate to commissions and payroll.
