Cost Accountant/Analyst Job Description A global leader in life sciences is seeking a Cost Accountant/Analyst to join their team. This role is pivotal in providing timely and accurate financial insights to support data-driven decision-making and optimize spending across support functions. The cost accountant will deliver financial review and analytical support across designated business units or functional areas, playing a critical role in strategic planning. Responsibilities Serve as the primary financial partner for operations, evaluating the cost impact of changes in manufacturing processes. Collaborate with Supply Chain to analyze inventory variances and develop strategies to meet financial targets. Support monthly financial reviews, including variance analysis and performance reporting. Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic financial projections. Provide financial support for daily operations and ad hoc business initiatives. Maintain and enhance financial systems used for reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Support the evaluation and management of capital expenditure projects. Prepare ad hoc reports and perform special assignments as needed. Essential Skills Cost accounting Proficiency in Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Tables, etc.) ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) Cost analysis Forecasting Variance analysis Inventory management Accounting reconciliation Month-end close processes Financial statement preparation Balance sheet management Financial reporting General ledger Budgeting Knowledge of CMA and GAAP Inventory accounting Audit and analysis Standard cost reporting Finance management CPA certification Journal entry management Fixed asset accounting Bank reconciliation Accrual management Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred) 4+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including cost accounting Minimum of 2 years working in a manufacturing environment CMA is highly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling High attention to detail and accuracy Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Work Environment The position is based onsite in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, requiring attendance in the office Monday through Friday, with one work-from-home day available.
