Job Title: Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Location: Vernon, CA (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Salary: Up to $120,000 DOE + Benefits

Our client is a well-established and growing multi-unit retail company with locations across Southern California. Backed by decades of customer loyalty and operational success, they’re in the midst of modernizing and internalizing key areas of their finance function. Their small, collaborative accounting team is seeking an experienced, hands-on professional to help them scale and improve.

About the Role:
They’re seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager to partner directly with the VP of Finance. This is a high-impact role focused on managing the monthly close across a dozen+ entities, while also supporting broader operational and reporting initiatives. You’ll work closely with leadership and have visibility across key business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process across multiple legal entities
• Perform journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and close-related reporting
• Manage bank reconciliations, fixed asset tracking, and intercompany transactions
• Support third-party revenue and payroll data reconciliation
• Assist with sales/use tax filings and year-end support for audits
• Contribute to process improvements, internal documentation, and system optimizations

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong hands-on involvement with month-end close, general ledger, and reconciliations
• Experience in a multi-unit, high-transaction volume environment (e.g. retail, consumer goods, or services)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations)
• Comfortable working fully onsite in Vernon, Monday–Friday

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with cloud-based accounting, payroll, or POS systems
• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and lease standards
• Exposure to third-party revenue platforms or external reporting consolidation
• Prior involvement in building out internal finance processes or transitioning from outsourced accounting models
