About the Role:
- Start: Part-time (25 hours/week), with the goal to convert to full-time within 6 months.
- Schedule: Flexible, but you must be available for 4 hours during business hours (9 AM to 5 PM) to collaborate with clients and our team.
- Location: Applicants must reside in VA, TN, or NC.
- Tools: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Microsoft 365, Keeper, Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Tax1099.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full-charge bookkeeping: reconciliations, categorizations, journal entries, and month-end closes for a variety of clients
- Manage payroll, prepare budgets and cash forecasts, file sales tax, prepare 1099s, and liaise with CPAs
- Lead or assist in monthly client finance meetings
- Follow internal SOPs and collaborate with team members
What You’ll Bring:
- B.S. degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of small business bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Xero (QBO certification a plus)
- Knowledge of accrual and cash basis bookkeeping
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Keeper, Gusto/ADP/Paychex, and Tax1099
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Passion for helping clients achieve success in their business
