Payroll Specialist

Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Administration

  • Process bi-weekly/weekly payroll for employees accurately and on time

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

  • Maintain and update employee payroll records (wages, deductions, taxes, benefits, etc.)

  • Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies

  • Manage payroll tax filings, garnishments, and other deductions

  • Coordinate with HR regarding new hires, terminations, and compensation changes

  • Generate payroll reports for finance and leadership teams

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, and documentation

  • Maintain employee files and ensure proper recordkeeping in accordance with company policies

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes

  • Coordinate office operations such as supplies, vendors, and facilities needs

  • Support internal reporting, data entry, and document preparation

  • Assist leadership with ad hoc projects and operational tasks

  • Help improve and maintain administrative and payroll processes

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred

  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar)

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
