Senior Manager, Investment Accounting

Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Investment Accounting serves as a subject matter expert and key leader within the investment accounting function. This role is responsible for overseeing complex investment accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across multiple accounting frameworks.
The position partners closely with finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and strategic initiatives. The Senior Manager plays an important role in strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and delivering high-quality financial insights to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a subject matter expert overseeing day-to-day investment accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
Review and support quarterly and annual investment reporting deliverables used for management, regulatory, and external reporting purposes
Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory reporting requirements related to investment activity
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex investment transactions under U.S. GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and IFRS
Oversee accounting for a diverse investment portfolio, including fixed income securities, structured products, equities, and alternative investments
Ensure appropriate classification, valuation, and income recognition across multiple accounting standards
Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting and support ongoing compliance initiatives
Partner with internal and external auditors to address investment-related audit matters and resolve findings efficiently
Collaborate with internal teams such as treasury, investment management, and finance leadership to ensure alignment and transparency
Lead or contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned by senior leadership
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of progressive accounting experience
5+ years of people leadership or management experience
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SAP, and IFRS as it relates to investments and financial instruments
Experience with statutory reporting and regulatory-driven environments strongly preferred
CPA preferred; public accounting experience a plus
Pay Details: $160,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year
