Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for recording general ledger entries and performing the month-end closing process. This position is responsible for accurate financial reporting and account reconciliation. In addition, this position is responsible for working in conjunction with the Staff Account II, as well as providing assistance to the Accounts Payable Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned ):
- Prepare general ledger entries throughout month and for month-end close.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Audit and prepare TECMA weekly invoice journal entries and help standardize the process to become more efficient.
- Reconcile inventory and WIP accounts.
- Reconcile the ASTRA process and prepare monthly journal entries.
- Assist in accounts payable processing maximizing efficiency and accounts payable metric performance, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with the company delegated authority matrix
- Perform continuous assessment of accounting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and ability to provide internal and external stakeholders with reliable and relevant business intelligence.
- Assist with financial internal audit and assessment program aimed at ensuring compliance with accounting and other company policies as well as improving the company’s financial results.
- Provide assistance on other special projects and ad hoc analysis.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university; and 1-3 years related experience and/or training required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Qualified candidates should also possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and payroll regulation
- Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Must understand confidentiality requirements of financial data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with company employees, management and executive management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel experience including pivot tables and vlookup formulas
