Sr Accountant Process Technician, Kohler Hospitality

Opportunity

Provideaccounting expertise and administrative support to the management of theHospitality businesses. To be an activemember of the business operating team. Thespecific business units will be aligned to match the skillset of the identifiedcandidate. The Hospitality Divisionportfolio includes lodging, golf, spa, dining and retail outlets.

Specific Responsibilities:

Business Accounting:

  • Responsible for daily sales and settlement reconciliation of point of sale (POS) systems.
  • Responsible for related cost of sales calculation.
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of accounts receivable.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling all balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly sales tax reports.
  • In charge of reconciliation of general cash and operation cash as well as periodic cash audits.
  • Monitoring the integrity of operational point of sale systems and the transfer of information to the data warehouse, Datavision.

Accounting Close:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of monthly General Ledger closing entries. This involves the computation of source data; the preparation of detailed journal entries, input into the General Ledger System (SAP); and the auditing and reconciling of the above data.
  • Responsible for producing various statistical reports for use in publication of operating statements.
  • Responsible for reviewing all cost of sales and related inventory counts. Responsible for accurate ending inventory account balances.
  • Each business tech is responsible for some part of the group close which could include responsibility for journalizing Workers Comp data and fringe for non-exempt associates, publishing monthly headcount information, or the coordination and execution of the monthly financial reporting to Corporate. These responsibilities, as well as other group activities, are assigned based on associate skill set as well as available time.

General Ledger Systems:

  • Producing monthly Hospitality operation statements. This involves assisting with the maintenance of reports; controlling of monthly processing; review of system output; and initiation of necessary corrections. A working knowledge of both the reporting system and the composition of the various financial statements is required. Also, to review these statements and reports for accuracy and research any unusual items.
  • Responsible for coordination and controlling the processing of monthly accounting journals; and related material which constitutes input to the General Ledger System.

System Support

  • Participate as a team member in the maintenance and implementation of operational systems and procedures as they relate to accounting functions/responsibilities.

Other

  • Process improvement and efficiencyshould be considered a priority while
    maintaining integrity in end results.
  • Other Duties as assigned: May include but are not limited to assisting with the publication of Capital, Financial or Strategic Plan documents, researching and troubleshooting issues and collaborating on process improvement initiatives.
  • This position may also be assigned duties related to events or tournaments hosted by the resort.

This is a full-time position. Hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Skills/Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance role
  • Advanced Excel skills

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly range for this position is $23.45 - $35.15. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
