Controller/Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller/Business Analyst to lead the accounting and financial operations of our Sebastian, Florida location. All personnel in the department will report to the Controller.

Position Summary

The Controller/Business Analyst will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and internal control functions for the company. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, supporting operational decision-making, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or packaging environment and is comfortable working closely with ownership and department managers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day accounting operations personnel regarding:
General ledger
Accounts payable and receivable
Payroll oversight
Bank reconciliations
Fixed assets
Inventory accounting

Prepare timely and accurate quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and tax advisors.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
Monitor inventory valuation, cost accounting, and manufacturing metrics.
Support leadership with strategic planning and financial analysis.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
Assist with ERP/accounting system improvements and process automation initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience.
Experience in manufacturing, packaging, distribution, or related industry strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience with inventory and cost accounting.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small-company environment.
