A growing manufacturing organization in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to support weekly payroll, benefits administration, employee records, and HR operations for a nationwide workforce of 300+ employees, including union employees.

This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and employee service are highly valued. The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while also supporting onboarding, benefits eligibility, union reporting, and HR recordkeeping.

Additional Skills

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic accounting knowledge or related payroll accounting background required.
- 3+ years of payroll experience, including payroll systems, pay-related reporting, payroll analysis, and payroll processing functions.
- Experience using Paylocity software required.
- Experience with weekly payroll processing required.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to reconcile discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support employees, supervisors, managers, and HR team members.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work safely in a manufacturing-related environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- HR or payroll certification from the American Payroll Association, SHRM, or HRCI preferred.
- Experience supporting union payroll, union dues, and union medical, dental, and vision invoice processing preferred.
- Experience supporting payroll and benefits administration for a workforce of 300+ employees preferred.
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Process and audit weekly payroll for up to 300+ employees nationwide, including reviewing timesheets, hours worked, wage calculations, adjustments, deductions, and payroll discrepancies.

- Issue employee paychecks, earnings statements, direct deposit records, retroactive adjustments, and payroll transfer files in accordance with company deadlines.

- Maintain accurate employee payroll and HR records, including exemptions, transfers, resignations, paid time off balances, I-9s, personnel files, and medical records.

- Support onboarding by entering new hire documentation into the HRIS and assigning employees in the Time and Labor module.

- Prepare month-end payroll, headcount, benefits, union dues, and benefits invoice reports for internal and external processing.

- Respond to employee, supervisor, manager, and applicant inquiries related to payroll, benefits eligibility, personnel policies, salaries, and HR information.
