General Purpose:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department by establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles for multiple entities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages the Accounting team.
  • Perform managerial responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include staff development, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing workload of staff, conducting employee performance reviews.
  • Serve as subject matter expert

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, general ledger entries, payroll postings, and purchasing card reconciliation.
  • Drive the set up for new ERP systems as they relate to the accounting function.
  • Review and post month-end journal entries.
  • Execute daily bank reconciliation.
  • Verify COGS and investigate variance accounts.
  • Verify inventory valuation.
  • Consolidate financial data of multiple entities.
  • Prepare Excel schedules to post within the General Ledger.
  • Complete reports for various inter-company departments.
  • Prepare financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyze actual expenses to the budget.
  • Examine invoices, expense reports and expenditures to ensure they are coded properly.
  • Ensure that tax returns are accurate and filed timely.
  • Facilitate and assist in sales tax audits.
  • Ensure completion of Austrian invoice documentation and reconciliation and back up schedules.
  • Submit invoices to Austria.
  • Audit expense reports.
  • Execute all year-end processing and audits.
  • Research any accounting issues within GLOCK’s ERP system (Microsoft Dymanics AX and Dynamics 365).
  • Consolidate and prepare annual budget.
  • Maintain fixed asset program.
  • Prepare FET quarterly and file quarterly reports.
  • Process, audit and reconcile Consult invest, Inc. invoices.

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

This position is responsible for a team of four direct reports. The ideal candidate must have a very thorough knowledge of accounting and GAAP compliance and will have had exposure to accounting in a manufacturing setting. This is a hands-on position that requires execution of tasks while leading the team. The candidate is expected to be able to analyze department processes to identify efficiency gains. The individual must be well spoken and familiar with financial deadlines.

The Accounting Manager should be curious and able to generate data using information from previous research. Our company utilizes Mircosoft Dynamics AX 2012, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O, as well as Quickbooks Desktop. This position works very heavily in Mircosoft Excel and the candidate will need to have a proven understanding of advanced functions. The position requires the ability to properly prioritize requests for regular reports and understand what information is being requested. This is not a remote position. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Five or more years of accounting related experience and training

Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred

Microsoft Excel is required

CPA is a nice to have but not required

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and is not remote. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may require some work outside of these hours, including some travel. Travel is defined as working at a satellite location based in Villa Rica, GA for a full day, every other week.
