Position Summary: Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their prominent non-profit organization. In this role, you will perform complex accounting functions, including financial reporting and regulatory compliance. This role directly supports organizational decision-making by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data. You will partner closely with the Accounting Management team to enhance processes, manage internal controls, and execute seamless month-end and year-end close activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is strictly required.
- Experience: A minimum of five 5 years of accounting experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role is required.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience within a Non-Profit organization is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookups).
- Work Environment: This position operates on-site in a multi-person professional office environment with occasional travel to other locations.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and complete balance sheet account reconciliations, providing independent recommendations and analysis as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for all journal entries and reconciliations.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze complex spreadsheets, prepare financial data for system input, perform calculations, and generate reports.
- Review expenditures, personnel labor allocations, and purchasing documents for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with internal policies as well as state and federal funding requirements.
- Analyze and maintain accounting records while assisting with annual budget development, ongoing financial forecasting, and special financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate, timely schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit and tax filings.
- Support month-end close processes and actively identify process inefficiencies to recommend improvements to systems, workflows, and internal controls.
- Support inventory counts and related internal controls , and assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and best practices.
- Maintain data integrity and safeguard confidential information, organizational assets, and electronic data.
