A leading company in the import and distribution sector, dedicated to providing the highest quality ingredients to the nutritional, food, and pharmaceutical industries, seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join their team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, and providing timely reporting to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of GAAP and a proven track record of managing and developing a team.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team; assign responsibilities and review work for accuracy.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Support the company's budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insight and support key business initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance departmental efficiency and accuracy.
Accounting Manager Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong, comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • High proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
