Senior Corporate Accountant

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Corporate Accountant plays a key role in supporting core

accounting operations, including period end close, preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, tax compliance including GAAP, and intercompany activity. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, technically strong, and adept at working cross functionally to improve processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of

financial reporting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

General Accounting & Close Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual closing journal entries in support of the monthly close process, ensuring deadlines and documentation standards are met.
  • Perform timely and accurate balance sheet and bank reconciliations (fixed assets, CIP, accruals, prepaids, cash, etc.) including Blackline documentation.
  • Manage sales and use tax preparation and filings, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Perform periodend close activities related to fixed asset subledgers.
  • Assist with external audit requests, schedule preparation, and documentation

Financial Systems Support

  • Act as a local administrator for financial systems (e.g., D365, Lawson, BlackLine), including access management, system configuration, and issue resolution.
  • Provide enduser training on ERP functionality, systems processes, and accounting procedures.
  • Partner with crossfunctional teams (IT, FP&A, Tax, AP, AR) on system enhancements, troubleshooting, and workflow improvements.
  • Serves as a local financial systems administrator and global CapEx360 administrator, providing user support, training, approval, perform oversight of data integrity and financial

reporting

Continuous Improvement & Ad Hoc Project

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, and automation.
  • Conduct independent research and analysis to resolve accounting questions.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform CIP (Construction-in-Progress) reconciliations and internal labor account

Education & Experience

Education and experience equivalent to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including but not limited to fixed asset or general ledger accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general accounting, fixed asset standards, capitalization policies, and monthend close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with sales & use tax preparation and filings
  • Experience with CIP accounting, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Familiarity with financial systems which could include D365, Lawson, BlackLine, CapEx 360, and Planful.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, data reconciliation).
  • CPA preferred.
