Established commercial electrical contractor is seeking a F/T experienced construction bookkeeper to manage accounting operations and support project management and payroll compliance.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
A/P
Coordinate purchase orders and match with invoices.
Make sure bills are entered and paid within terms.
A/R
Must have experience in the AIA invoicing, lien releases and job close out.
Payroll
Coordinate timesheets with project managers.
Process weekly for all employees.
Compile and submit quarterly reports including 941s, 940s, state unemployment.
Compile and submit W2 forms.
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Process certified payroll.
Experience with DLLR and wage scale work.
Job Costing
Set up jobs, apply and prevailing wage requirement.
Print monthly job cost report to work with foreman on the monthly billing.
Knowledge of work in progress reports.
General Ledger
Complete bank account reconciliation.
Prepare half yearly and yearly financial reports for external CPA.
Post all closing entries provided by accounts and close year.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Hiring process - drug tests, etc.
Organize background checks.
Enroll new employees health insurance, manage 401k plan.
Organize Apprenticeship training.
Prepare yearly WC audit.
Keep business licenses updated as required.
Maintain proper insurance and workers comp requirements.
Clerical and back office management tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree or 2 years experience in accounting/construction
Stable work history with work references
EXPERIENCE in A/P, A/R, Wage Scale, Certified Payroll, and AIA invoicing a MUST
Foundation construction accounting software experience a plus
Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat proficient
Extremely organized, attention to detail, and great communication skills
