About Our Client
Our client is sourcing a Controller for a 6-month contract.

About the Opportunity

  • Oversee the operational finance/accounting function to ensure that claims, premiums are appropriately processed.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee key accounting processes including reconciliations, financial analysis, accounts receivable monitoring, recoveries, and operational reporting.
  • Manage quarterly close deliverables, including journal entries, financial statement reviews, forecasting, and supporting workpapers.
  • Serve as a key liaison for external audits, regulatory filings, and annual budgeting processes.
  • Review and approve critical finance deliverables, ensuring strong financial controls and reporting integrity.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of finance professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation, and control enhancements.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to support financial reporting, issue resolution, and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Support special projects, business initiatives, and ad hoc finance activities in a dynamic and evolving environment.

About You
  • CPA or equivalent designation
  • Manager level experience and up
  • Experience overseeing finance/accounting operations in an insurance company
  • Health insurance experience is an asset but not required
