Tax Manager

Duties Manage a portfolio of clients across diverse industries, serving as their primary point of contact for tax planning, compliance, and strategic financial guidance Review individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate tax returns prepared by staff, using UltraTax CS and the Thomson Reuters product suite Lead proactive tax planning conversations with small business owners and individuals to support their long-term financial goals Mentor and develop interns and staff accountants in partnership with firm leadership, including reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting CPA exam progress Partner with firm leadership on practice development, process improvement, and client growth initiatives Requirements Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA designation is preferred Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience required, with at least 1 year reviewing tax returns Strong working knowledge of UltraTax CS, QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), and the Microsoft Office suite Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously Must be able to travel based on client and business needs (approx. 5-10%, primarily within CT and RI) What you'll love about HFM Competitive compensation with annual performance bonuses 401(k) with firm match and profit share Comprehensive health and dental coverage Generous PTO plus paid holidays and a reduced summer schedule A clear path to Senior Manager and Partner for the right candidate
