Controller Multi-Unit Music Venue

Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 Location: Greenwich Village area, NYC (On-site 5 days/week + monthly Long Island site visit) About the Opportunity A fast-growing hospitality and entertainment group is seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple business entities in a dynamic, high-volume environment. This organization operates several established hospitality and entertainment-related businesses and is entering an exciting growth phase with a major expansion planned later this year. Position Overview The Controller will oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple related entities, ensuring accurate reporting, streamlined systems, and scalable financial processes. This role requires a strong operator who can manage day-to-day accounting while helping create structure and efficiencies that support continued expansion. Key Responsibilities Oversee full-cycle accounting across multiple business entities Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end close Oversee payroll processing and financial accuracy Prepare financial reports and consolidated reporting for ownership Maintain and optimize QuickBooks systems and workflows Build and improve internal accounting processes and controls Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and cash flow tracking Ensure financial accuracy across multi-location operations Support growth initiatives by implementing scalable financial systems Partner directly with leadership to improve reporting visibility and operational efficiency Required Qualifications Expert-level QuickBooks experience 5+ years of progressive accounting/controller experience Strong multi-entity accounting experience Hospitality industry accounting/finance background required Payroll and bookkeeping expertise Experience improving financial systems and processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Self-starter with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset Preferred Background Experience in one or more of the following: Hospitality groups Restaurant finance Event operations Catering operations Venue management Entertainment-related businesses Multi-location operational finance Ideal Candidate You are someone who: Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments Can roll up your sleeves and execute Builds structure where needed Understands hospitality operational complexity Takes ownership and solves problems proactively Can create financial systems that scale with growth Why This Role Stands Out This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization entering a major growth phase and play a key leadership role in building the financial infrastructure that supports future expansion.
