We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a healthcare organization in Sacramento. The Full Charge Bookkeeper partners closely with leadership and the accounting team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes. This is an onsite position that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning a wide range of bookkeeping responsibilities from month-end close to payroll support and financial reporting.
Pay Range: $31- $35/hour DOE
Location: Sacramento (Onsite)
Temp to Hire
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end close activities and ensure timely completion.
Reconcile accounts receivable monthly and maintain accurate records.
Prepare and post journal entries, including payroll-related entries in QuickBooks.
Record bank deposits and complete monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
Reconcile credit card transactions and maintain prepaid expense schedules.
Support payroll processing, including reports, deductions, reimbursements, and tax deposits.
Assist with accounts payable, including invoice review, vendor reconciliations, and communication with vendors.
Assign invoices to correct general ledger accounts and request clarification when needed.
Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for leadership.
Maintain accurate banking documentation and support account setup and maintenance.
Track 1099 vendors and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
File and pay required licenses and tax returns as needed.
Assist with year-end close, CPA requests, and audit preparation.
Follow established accounting procedures and support process improvements.
Provide general accounting support and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
3-5 years of accounting experience required; healthcare or medical insurance experience strongly preferred.
Intermediate proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience creating SOPs is a plus.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Professional demeanor and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
